Kicking Off the Holiday Season with School Christmas Play Prep
Posted on Dec 29, 2011 under Guest Posts | No CommentGuest post written by Patricia Hammond
This is the first time that I’ve ever helped out with my kids’ school Christmas play. Honestly, I kind of dodged it in the years past. But this year I thought it was about time that I would step up to it. I’m helping build some of the sets for the play, which requires a bit of on-site stuff, or more so than if I was working on costumes, programs, or something like that.
I’m not a seasoned veteran at making sets though, so I’ve been looking online to see if I can find some tips to keep everything sturdy but streamline all of the hard work. While I was online looking up that stuff, I saw the site http://hearingaids.miracle-ear.com and after I looked through it a little bit I decided to go and get a hearing test and get fitted with hearing aids.
I found a few tips. Most of the things I’m using for sets are refrigerator cardboard boxes that the people at hte local hardware store saved up for me. They’re so easy to spray paint on. I think that the hard part will be making sure that they all stay upright like they should.
I have been a shopaholic ever since I was single. It’s my way to beat all the stresses in life. Every time a barcode scanner reads my item’s price, I have this feeling of contentment that I could not get elsewhere. I feel empowered after wishing to have a hot item on my list to be finally in my hands. It’s my way of compensating my hardwork and sacrifices I have to put on in my work. Indeed, retail therapy works for me!
Merry Christmas!!! I wanna greet all of you in advance because I might not get a chance to do so on Christmas day. I hope you will have a joyous celebration with your loved ones. Make every moment count!
As for us here, well, since hubby will be working on the 24th and the 25th, we plan to celebrate Christmas on a later date. Hubby wants to spend a night in a cabin up in the mountains so we will do that hopefully before the new year comes.
So that’s it. I can’t stay long because I’m rushing to finish the personalized jewelry I’m making for my girlfriends. I ran out of earring findings last night that’s why I’m cramming right now. Wish me luck! >.<
So we’re nearing our closing date… and we’re really excited about it! Although they already put up the “SOLD” sign but we can’t call it officially “OURS” not until we sign the papers. The builders told us they will finish everything on the 27th. They’re just doing some final touches on the basement floor and wall painting and when they’re done, we can start moving our stuff. Gosh, we can’t wait! Hubby and I had been talking about it almost every night. Haha! That’s how excited we are. And we’re really glad because the builders are letting us use their container van for free so we don’t have to rent a U-Haul truck. Yup, they sure know how to sweeten the deal!

And that right there is our precious lil elf helping mom and dad decorate the tree. ♥
