Went to…

The Author of this post is Darius Boone

I went to Internet.Clear.com not too long ago and now I’m addicted to the internet. I spend all my freetime on humor sites like College Humor and Cracked and it’s really interfering with my ability to do my job. I get to use my personal laptop for work and now even when I’m eating lunch in the cafeteria I’ve got my nose buried inside my computer and I think my eyes are getting bad because I spend so much time staring at a screen. I love my hilarious news articles, what can I say? I think it’s great people like me get to work for themselves and get judged not by what they put forth but buy how long they’re at the office (that’s sarcasm, I hate this)…I think if my boss had any idea how much time I spend goofing off he wouldn’t be too happy. I love that there are so many ways for me to waste time on the web and not have to work but my productivity for sure is going down…

This is the first time that I’ve ever helped out with my kids’ school Christmas play. Honestly, I kind of dodged it in the years past. But this year I thought it was about time that I would step up to it. I’m helping build some of the sets for the play, which requires a bit of on-site stuff, or more so than if I was working on costumes, programs, or something like that.

I’m not a seasoned veteran at making sets though, so I’ve been looking online to see if I can find some tips to keep everything sturdy but streamline all of the hard work. While I was online looking up that stuff, I saw the site http://hearingaids.miracle-ear.com and after I looked through it a little bit I decided to go and get a hearing test and get fitted with hearing aids.

I found a few tips. Most of the things I’m using for sets are refrigerator cardboard boxes that the people at hte local hardware store saved up for me. They’re so easy to spray paint on. I think that the hard part will be making sure that they all stay upright like they should.

Mama Needs a Break

After a horrific trip to run errands with three little ones, I came home the other day to find that the upstairs of our house was 94 degrees! After hauling in the babies and the groceries – and picking my jaw up off the floor – I called my husband to assess the situation. I know Texas is known for being hot, but I can’t work efficiently in a sweltering studio upstairs. My husband said I should Shop Electricity Rates Texas* and see if we can’t get a better deal, especially in this weather. Turns out, our air conditioner was broken, but we were able to get a better rate starting this month and I am thrilled! We’re on a tight budget around these parts. Diapers, formula, Pre-K, AWANA’s, dance class, yoga (for me) and two gallons of organic milk a week means we’re pinching pennies. My call actually saved us money all over the house, not just air conditioning or heat. Thanks goodness, now maybe mamma can get a manicure or pedicure one of these sweaty days…

My boyfriend and I actually met at a karaoke bar. I saying “Barracuda” by Heart and he hit on me by complimenting me on my karaoke singing. It was love at first song. So I thought that the perfect 25th birthday party would be to surprise him with a karaoke one. So I’m working on putting the finishing touches on everything.

I was looking online to see about renting some karaoke equipment and after I was looking through some websites to rent it from, I ran across the website GetCLEARWIRELESSINTERNET.com. I showed it to my roommate and after that we decided to change over our internet service from it.

This isn’t just going to be like any average karaoke night. It’s going to be even better with free booze and cake. I think that he’s really going to enjoy this. I’ve been super sneaky, along with the rest of our friends, and I think we’re not going to blow the secret before he walks into my apartment. He thinks that I’m just taking him out to his favorite restaurant and then out to drinks. Then we’re going to stop by my apartment really quick before drinks for the big surprise!

Living the Dream

Now that I am of retirement age, I want to move down by the water. All my life, I have pictured myself living close to the ocean. I don’t know why I have always felt so compelled to do so, but there really is something about it. Throughout the years, I’ve pictured the possibility of moving to the coast, but my family and I have had such strong roots in our current area; I never had any desire to remove us from the community. However, the kids are now out on their own, and my wife and I are both feeling the desire to live someplace new. Plus, this house doesn’t feel quite the same now that our kids don’t live here with us anymore.

This weekend, my wife and I are going on a road trip to the coast and perhaps talk to a few realtors. While browsing http://hearingaids.miracle-ear.com/hearing-locations/florida/p/port-charlotte/, I decided to also research the area where we are going to travel. This trip is going to be our first step to my dream home. My wife is also excited, and we both agree that this will be great for our retirement years.

House Hunters

Thanks to Austin Camacho

Since we have gotten Specials on Directv I have developed a very unhealthy habit. I spend so much time watching HGTV’s popular show House Hunters that other things like cleaning, cooking and being social have gone to the wayside. I send so much time sitting on the couch watching episode after episode that I have little time for anything else. To help explain a little better I have developed a short list as to why I am so obsessed with this show. Maybe it will help to break my addiction.

1. House Hunters follows a person, couple or family on their quests to find the perfect home. This is part of the appeal for me. These are not millionaires looking at mansions. These are real people with real expectations trying to find their dream home at a price they can afford. They have the same concerns as me. They worry about the price, neighborhood, schools and parking and it just makes it so relatable.

2. The way the show is set up is so simple and easy to follow. They are not throwing numbers and prices and square footage at you. House hunting is stressful enough with the inspection process, escrow and mortgages that it is nice to see buying a home broken down into such easy steps. It makes it so much less intimidating.

3. Looking at other people’s home. This has always been a fascination. I will stop on a dime if I pass an open house and it looks interesting. I just love seeing how other people decorate and how they organize their homes and furniture. It not lonely gives me ideas for my own home but sometimes it shows me what not to do as well.

As a working mom with three kids, I have relied heavily on household machines which make my life easier to handle. I have managed to be a multitasker, given that all my househelp gadgets function as expected. But of course, that is not always the case. Technology does fail and that is something that we should not be surprised about.

One of the most crucial cleaning machines I have always maintained is my vacuum cleaner. By far it is the most efficient gadget for me. But when the time came that it failed for many reasons, I was so glad to have read Dyson reviews. The reviews are very useful because I could identify the problems myself.

Another option is through Oreck reviews. Being a major manufacturer in the cleaning industry, the information one can get from their vacuum cleaner reviews is truly comprehensive. By making myself aware of these reviews, I empower myself and in return become more able to choose the best cleaning gadget that works for me.
